National Register of Historic Places Inventory-Nomination Form (1973) "Built between 1871-73 from plans by William H. Miller, one of Cornell's first students of architecture, the mansion at 27 East Ave, has been occupied by three of Cornell's six presidents--Mr. White, Livingston Farrand, and Edmund E. Day.... President White occupied the house from 1873 until his death in 1918. The mansion was extensively remodeled in 1921 for president and Mrs. Farrand, who lived there until July, 1937. President Day and his family made it their home from September, 1937, until February, 1951."
