“A five-story building at 109-111 N Aurora St. housing Head’s Camera Shop and Central American (Gift) Shop as well as 12 persons in upper floor apartments was destroyed today in a pre-dawn fire….
The building, more than 130 years old, is the only known building in Ithaca constructed of Fieldstone, according to historian Ralph C. Smith. One Fieldstone wall is visible on the north side; the rest has been faced with brick.”

Sue Strandberg, “Fire Destroys Downtown Business, Apartment Building,” Ithaca Journal, January 3, 1968, 13, 21
