“The Jack and Jill Shop, 115 E. Green St., will be opened for business at 9 a.m. Thursday under the ownership and operation of Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander of 415 Linn St. 
The retail store will have a complete line of infant’s apparel and infant’s toys, girl’s apparel to 12 years and boy’s wear to eight years. 
The new store is located on the site formerly occupied by I.B.’s Grill for 15 years. The grill was operated by the late I. B. Alexander until his death in 1947. His son, John Alexander, had been employed in the business and took over the management at that time. I. B. Alexander had been in the clothing business for 35 years. 
The grill was closed June 30 and alterations, including a new glass front, were begun immediately by Lee and Ripley of Ithaca, general contractor.Handling sales, in addition to Mr. And Mrs. Alexander, will be Mrs. Sara Blaceyk and Mrs. Hannah Korn.”
