  Francis Underwood was listed on Hanshaw Rd in the 1952 Ithaca City Directory as "1000 Francis O Underwood 3-1455 @". In the 1953 Ithaca City Directory his listing was "1020 Francis O Underwood 3-1455 @." Many houses on Hanshaw Road east of Community Corners (aka Corners Community) changed house number after the expansion of Cayuga Heights Village in 1953.
  From 1953 to 1961, the house number was 1020.

  In 1961, the property was divided into 3 lots as shown in BF023553-001 MAP, titled "Map of F. O. Underwood Lots at No. 1020-1022-1024 Hanshaw Rd. Carl Crandall, C.E. Jun 16, 1961." The number of the house in which the Underwoods lived in 1950 was to be changed from 1020 to 1022 Hanshaw Rd.
