Timothy Hollister's Planing Mill and Turning Works was where a large fire originated on August 28, 1871 that burned down several buildings in Ithaca. He built a
new building to replace it in 1872.
This building was numbered 25 S Aurora St in the 1870 city directory but located here (even side) on the 1866 and 1872 maps. The next buildings are also listed with odd numbers in the 1870 city directory.
Hollister rebuilt and from 1872-1876 his business was listed at 23 S Aurora St. Starting in the 1878 city directory his business was listed at 22 S Aurora.
