Description
In 1909 the two buildings housing The Children's Home, 518 and 520 W Seneca St were replaced by a new building at 518 W Seneca St. Both buildings were moved across the street with 518 renumbered 521 W Seneca St and 520 renumbered 517 W Seneca St (see 1910 Sanborn).

"The Children's Home was founded in October, 1885, under the Ladies' Benevolent Union Society.  It was given two houses and lots on West Seneca Street by Edward S. Esty, and he also made an endowment of $5,000.  Mrs. Elizabeth W. Beebe, then city missionary, was also one of the founders, and lived for some years in one of the two original buildings.... The two houses, which were the gift of Mr. Esty, were outgrown, and in 1909 the present house was erected."
