“It is planned to be a three-story building with monolithic walls of concrete. In fact the entire building, including the roof, and stairways will be made of this material. A contract was recently awarded to James Thomas to drill the needed wells to procure the water that will be used in the ice making. It is expected that the building of the plant will begin immediately.”

"One of the local spring building operations now nearing completion is the two-story fire-proof addition at the plant of the Sanitary Ice Cream Company on lower West State street.
The new building is of cement and stone construction and is now partly occupied. The building contains additional space for the steam, cooling, sterilizing, receiving and pasteurizing rooms and also new general and private offices.
The company will shortly announce plans for a general public inspection of the plant, the completeness and extensiveness of which is little known to Ithacans. Visiting days will be set aside for the various sections of the city. Refreshments will be served to visitors."

“...The Sanitary Ice Cream and Milk Company was recently taken over by a number of Tompkins County milk producers.
A statement of the company’s plan to eliminate the ‘middleman’ says: ‘Recognizing that economic conditions of the day demand the elimination of the middleman in the distribution of food products, the milk producers, by the purchase of all interest in the Sanitary Ice Cream and Milk Company formerly held by non-producers, and by the elimination of all paid officials, are now in a position to supply the citizens of Ithaca with the best milk, cream and ice cream at the lowest prices….
Officers of the new company have been elected as follows: President, E. H. Marshall; vice president, N. H. Hopper; treasurer, F. L. Hawes; secretary, R. C. Albright; advisory committee, Albert G. Stone of Ithaca, Daniel Mitchell of Enfield and D. F. Head of Caroline; directors, E. H. Marshall of Ithaca, R. C. Albright of Newfield, F. H. Smith of Ulysses, F. L. Hawes of Danby.”
