“Pritchard, Edwards & Co. have just turned out a new wagon for E. G. Hance, proprietor of the campus and city dime delivery line. On the panels and doors of the wagon are painted in large gold letters the signs of a number of prominent business firms. The wagon has a business like look and is a credit to Mr. Hance’s enterprise as well as to the skill of the builders.”

"When the advent of the automobile industry began to sound the doom of the carriage industry, Mr. Pritchard did not become discouraged in the slightest. The carriage business was gradually merged into a thriving automobile business and a third member, Leon C. Pritchard, became associated with the well known and popular firm of J. G. Pritchard & Sons.
Mr. Pritchard, because of his long association with the carriage industry, became an expert student of the wants of the public as to solid comfort in vehicular traveling, and also was convinced that folks demanded the best values for their money in addition to being assured of that comfort."
"James G. Pritchard: Ithaca's Enterprising Buick Dealer," Ithaca Journal, September 1, 1923, 6.

"James G. Pritchard, dean of Ithaca's automobile dealers, died at his home, 223 South Albany Street, today. He was 88 years old.
Mr. Pritchard retired several years ago. A carriage builder by trade, he came here from Margate, England, his birthplace, to head the firm of Pritchard, Edward & Sullivan. After the retirement of Mr. Sullivan and the death of Mr. Edwards, the place was operated solely by the senior member of the firm. Later he organized and headed the firm now known as J.G. Pritchard & Sons."
