Floyd R. Woolever, Formerly Head of Printers Here, Dead Floyd R. Woolever of Syracuse. a linotype operator for The Catholic Sun, and former president of the Ithaca Typographical Union, died Sunday morning
[1/21/1932] in St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse.
He was born in Ithaca 63 years ago, the son of Lawson and Harriet Woolever, He worked at the printing trade as linotype operator on the old Ithaca Daily News.
About 20 years ago he went to Syracuse to work for The Syracuse Herald, transferring later to The Syracuse Post-Standard, and going 12 years ago to The Catholic Sun. Mr. Woolever was a member of Syracuse Typographical Union, 55, the Knights of Columbus and the Loyal Order of Moose.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Tressy Woolever: two sons, Francis. a member of the sports staff of The Syracuse Herald. and Albert: two daughters, Mrs. Gaston R. St. Pierre and Mrs. Frederick W. Bultman, all of Syracuse: and a sister, Miss Lula Woolever of Ithaca, and 10 grandchildren."
Note: Floyd's sister, Lula Woolever, died intestate in 1936. The children of her brother Floyd named here were declared her heirs and sold the family property at
119 Sears St.
