Obituary of Henry Johnson, March 21, 1918, 7.

"Henry Johnson, 70, of 415 North Albany street, who was one of the three surviving colored members of Sydney Post, G.A.R., of this city, died yesterday afternoon at the City Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, Va., he enlisted as a private in Company I, 31st United States Colored Troops, in 1864, and served 14 months until he received his discharge. Mr. Johnson had been a member of Sydney Post 21 years. The remaining two colored members of the post are Henry Hill and Robert Walker.
Mr. Johnson's only surviving near relative is his wife."
