"Mrs. Treman was a native of Ithaca, born February 24, 1823, in the Mack home on South Hill, and she has lived here during the whole of her long and useful life. She was a daughter of Ebenezer Mack, who in his day was one of the most prominent men in this state, one of the owners and publishers of The Journal from 1816 to 1833. a member of the firm of Mack & Andrus, publishers of many books, among which was "The Life of Lafayette," written by Mr. Mack himself. Mrs. Treman was the last survivor of his seven children.

She leaves surviving her one son, Ebenezer Mack Treman, and two daughters, Mrs. John S. Waterman and Louisa Treman; also one grand-daughter, Mrs. Charles Mann of New Rochelle, N.Y."
