  "James Scott, 65, 311 S. Plain St., died Saturday, August. 28, 1948, at his home following a long illness.
  He was a member of St. James AME Zion Church and the National Association of Advancement of Colored People.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Flossie R. Scott; two sisters, Mrs. Julia White of Ithaca and Mrs. Emma Bowles of Goochland, Va.; a brother, Edward W. Scott Sr., of Ithaca and several nieces and nephews.
  Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the AME Zion Church with the Rev. Richard Benjamin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Lake View cemetery.
  Friends may call at the Herson Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva St., from 7 to 9 p.m. today."
