Miss Sherer Weds Thomas E. Norton

"The First Baptist Church of Knoxville, Pa., was the setting of the wedding at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 1946, of Miss Eleanor Lois Sherer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry H. Sherer of that place, to Thomas E. Norton, son of Mrs. Jeanette Norton of 212 South Hill Terrace and the late S. E, Norton.

  The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of white point d'esprit with off shoulder ruffle outlining a shadow sheer yoke, long tight sleeves forming points over the hands, fitted bod-ice, and full skirt falling into a court train edged by a deep ruffle. Her finger-tip five pointed veil fell from a tiara beaded with seed pearls. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of white stephanotis with an orchid in the center.
  The maid of honor, Miss Betty Deering of Catskill, wore a gown of pink dotted swiss made off shoulder with ruffle, puffed sleeves, full skirt, and white mitts. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of pink sweet peas and matching tiara.
  The bridesmaids were the Misses Eleanor Bell of Rochester, Shirley Jean Williams of Schenectady, Nannette Curtis of Syracuse, Nancy Gibbs of Albany, Kathryn Knapp of New York City, and Mrs. William Norton of Ithaca.

  William C. Norton of Ithaca, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. The ushers were Donald Card and Frank Inman of Ithaca, James Clark of Binghamton, Charles Fisk and Kenneth Coleman of Elkland, Pa,, and Donald Lugg of Knoxville, Pa.

  The bride is a graduate of Knoxville High School and attended the College of Liberal Arts, Syracuse University. She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega, national women's sorority.
  The bridegroom, a graduate of Ithaca High School, served 3 years in the Navy aboard a minesweeper in the Pacific. He is now a partner in the Norton Electric Company, Ithaca.
