Obituary for Verne Allen (Misty) Fogg

"V. A. (Misty) Fogg, 90, of 415 Hanshaw Road, Cayuga Heights, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1987, in Tompkins Community Hospital. He was born in Canaan, a son of the late A. I. and Drucilla Clark Fogg.
Mr. Fogg was a retired executive and member of the Board of Directors of Agway, which was formerly known as GLF. He directed the field service of that organization during its most rapid period of development. He was a former president of the County Agents' Association, known as the Sod Busters.
He graduated from the Massachusetts Agricultural College, now the University of Massachusetts, in 1919. His college career was interrupted by World War I, during which he served in the Officers' Training School in Camp Lee, Va.
He was very active in Ithaca community affairs, where he served as a former director and president of the Chamber of Commerce. He helped organize the Ithaca Foundation, a fund for special community projects, and served as its president. He was a member and former trustee of the First Congregational Church. He also was a member of the Ithaca Rotary Club, the Lamb's Club, the National and New York State Grange Associations; a former council member of the Boy Scouts of America and the YMCA. He also served on the hospital board and the special gifts committee of United Way.
Mr. Fogg is survived by his wife, Irene F. Fogg of Ithaca; a son, V. Allen Fogg of Westchester, IIl.; a daughter, Elizabeth Scazzero of Elmsford; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren."
