"Miss Lena Rebecca Stout, daughter of Mrs. Fred Robinson of 220 East Falls Street, and Charles Lamont Fulkerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fulkerson of 114 Auburn Street, were married at 11 o'clock on Wednesday morning, October 10, at the home of the bride's mother. The ceremony was perfrmed by Rev. B. Frank Tobey, pastor of the Danby Congregatinal Church.
The house was attractively decorated with palms and Autumn leaves. Miss Bessie Creeseman played the bridal chorus from Lohrengren as the procession moved slowly down the stairs into the living room, and took places before an altar banked with palms an peldestal baskets of white gladioli and chrysanthemums.
The bride was gowned in white transparent velvet made with a full skirt long in the back and short in the front. A drape of chiffon was caught at the side with a spray of orange blossoms, she wore a picture hat of white chiffon with velvet ribbons reaching to the bottom of her gown. She carried an arm bouquet of bride's roses.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Helen Murphy, childhood friend of the bride, was gowned in pink taffeta made in bouffant style with hat and slippers to match. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses. Little Betty Jane Blakeslee, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a yellow ruffled frock and carried a basket of garden flowers. John Miller was best man.
Following the ceremony a luncheon was served to 30 guests at the Forest Home Inn. The bride's table, which was decorated with pink rose buds and baby's breath, was laid for 10.
The bride's going away costume was a midnight blue transparent velvet and georgette ensemble with hat of blue velvet, and blue kid slippers to match. After a motor trip through the White Mountains, Mr. and Mrs. Fulkerson will be at home at 402 South Albany Street.
Manyp renuptial events have been given Mrs. Fulkerson, including a variety shower by Mrs. Charles Green at her home, and a linen shower and dinner given by Mrs. Helen Murphy at the Green Lantern Tea Room."
