"James H. Robinson, 54, Ex-Maitre'd, is Dead," Ithaca Journal, February 5, 1975, 4.
"James H. Robinson...was the son of Mrs. Mildred Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the late Edward Robinson.
He worked at the Ithaca Hotel for 25 years, and was the maitre'd when the hotel closed, after which he was the proprietor of the Gateway Restaurant in Trumansburg. Then, he worked as a waiter at the Station Restaurant. He was later a courtesy bus driver for Cayuga Ford.
A veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, he was Post Commander of American Legion, Present Vice Commander of Tompkins County American Legion, and was organizer of the 1974 Veterans Day parade.
A member of Forest City Lodge of Elks he was also a Past Director on the Board of South Side Community Center, and was an usher at Immaculate Conception Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Barbara Robinson; two sons, Mr. Melvin J. Robinson and Mr. Donald S. Robinson, both of Ithaca; two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie G. Collazo, and Janice L. Robinson, both of Ithaca...."
