Elvira Daino Pollio, 1895-1958

“Mrs. Elvira Pollio, 62, of 602 W Buffalo St., died this morning, May 19, 1958, in Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. 
She and her husband, Vincenzo Pollio, who survives her, are the proprietors of Joe’s Restaurant, which they opened in 1933. 
She was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Third Order of St. Francis. 
Besides her husband she is survived by 2 sons, Carl J. Yengo and Joseph J. Yengo, both of Ithaca; 4 daughters, Mrs. Lucy Pollio of Ithaca, Mrs. Theresa Cerame of Rochester, Mrs. Antoinette McNamara of Syracuse and Miss Joan Pollio of Ithaca; 15 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Carmela De Laurentiis and Mrs Nancy Natali and a brother, Frank Daino, all of Ithaca. 
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Bangs Funeral Home.”
