Engagement of Margaret Ann Curtis and Frank A. Walkley

"Mr. and Mrs. Otis F. Curtis of Forest Home announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Margaret Ann Curtis, to Lt. (jg) Frank A. Walkley, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Walkley of Castile.
Miss Curtis is a graduate of Ithaca High School and Oberlin College. She is now working in the Personnel Separation Center at Sampson Naval Base. Lieutenant Walkley is a graduate of Cornell University, Class of 1943, and is stationed at the Separation Center."

"Miss Margaret Ann Curtis, daughter of Prof. Otis F. Curtis and Mrs. Curtis of Forest Home, became the bride of Lt. (jg) Frank Aldrich Walkley USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Walkley of Castile at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 1946.
The double ring ceremony was performed in the First Unitarian Church by the Rev. Ralph N. Helverson, the pastor. Tapers, palms, and white flowers decorated the church. The wedding music was Handel's "Prelude," "Because," the march from Wagner's "Tannhauser," and Mendelssohn's "Wedding March."
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a princess-style gown of bridal satin with train, a Juliet neckline of lace trimmed with crystal beads. Her full-length veil was bordered with lace caught to a head with pink camellias. Her shower bouquet was lilies of the valley, white roses, and pink camellias.
Miss Betty Jane Walkley of Castile, sister of the bridegroom, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Virginia Curtis of Moorestown, N.J., cousin of the bride; Miss May Kitaxawa of New York City, a college roommate, and Miss Eleanor Goodman of Forest Home.

Robert Trembath of Flint, Mich., brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were James Van Arsdale of Castile, Nathan Walkley of Batavia and David Walkley of LeRoy, cousins of the bridegroom, and William Curtis, brother of the bride.
A reception was held at the home of the bride's parents for the two families and out-of-town guests.
Mrs. Walkley was graduated from Oberlin College in 1945, where she sang in the Varsity Glee Club, and is with the American Red Cross, stationed at Sampson Separation Center.
Mr. Walkley was graduated in 1943 from Cornell where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, Quill and Dagger, and president of Student Agencies. Since his return from duty overseas, he has been stationed at Sampson Naval Center.

Lieutenant Walkley and Mrs. Walkley will reside at Geneva until his release from active duty, when the young couple plans to live in Castile."
