Obituary for Elaine Knowles Weaver

  "Prof. Elaine Knowles Weaver of Ohio State University and formerly a member of the faculty of the State College of Home Economics at Cornell University died today, Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1961, at Columbus, Ohio, after a long illness.
  Professor Weaver came to Cornell in 1936 and was an assistant professor when she left here in 1945. While at the College of Home Economics she helped establish a course on management and work in the home.
  She pioneered in research on the heights of work surfaces in the home, and was well known throughout the country for her work in designing household equipment.
  She is survived by her husband, James Weaver, a son, John, 12, a stepson, James, and the mother, Mrs. Dorothy Knowles, all of Hilliards, Ohio."
