"Brooklyn's fame is much bound up in Henry Ward Beecher; it has like occasion to be proud of the Howards, perhaps the foremost of the families that established Plymouth Church firmly and gave Beecher his powerful pulpit. Hence the marriage in Plymouth, yesterday, of a great-granddaughter of John R. Howard is an event of Brooklyn note. There are not, indeed, many weddings that would have, today, more interest.
  Miss Constance Gray was this Howard's great-granddaughter. She became Mrs. Jes Jessen Dall Jr. at 4:30 o'clock in the afternoon, the Rev. Dr. Newell Dwight Hillis, present pastor of Plymouth, marrying her, and with some of the best known of the younger girls of society among her attendants-Miss Marie Louise Dorsey, Miss Annie Thompson, Miss Adelaide Whitehouse Moffat, Miss Jane Litchfield and Miss Rose Norton (these two her cousins), Miss Mary Elizabeth Praeger and Miss Zorka Polak, Miss Dorsey being her maid of honor and the others her bridesmaids. Miss Gray, it is interesting to note, besides being John R. Howard's great-granddaughter, is a granddaughter of General and Mrs. Horatio C. King of Willow street and a grandniece of Edward T. Howard and the late Joseph Howard Jr. Her mother is Mrs. Percy R. Gray (formerly Miss Emma Gray). She herself has been very prominent among the young girls of society and a very active figure.
  The wedding was a relatively small church wedding, in keeping with these war times, and was followed by a quiet reception for the many relatives and for intimate friends, at the Gray home, 31 Garden place. The house decorations were smilax and palms. At the church there were palms and white chrysanthemums and one effective, well thought out touch of the hour, an American flag as a background for Miss Gray and Mr. Dall as they were being married.
  Jes Jessen Dall Jr., yesterday's bridegroom, has been much in evidence in the Heights set the past year or so, and has been seen at many Heights affairs. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jes Jessen Dall of 48 Midwood street. His father is widely known as the builder of some of the finest country mansions in the New York metropolitan district. Mr. Dall had Rogers Burnham as his best man and for his ushers Lieutenant Gordon I. Schenck, U. S. A.; Lieutenant J. A. B. Smith, U. S. A.; Frank St. John and John Laken Baldridge."

"Former Ithaca Contractor Dies in South.
  Jes Jessen Dall Jr., 48, Ithaca construction company president and architect, died unexpectedly from a heart ailment at 3 p.m. Sunday [Jun 28] in Tampa, Fla. He was stricken shortly after returning from a fishing trip to a lake near Tampa.
  President of the J. Dall Jr. Construction Company, Mr. Dall erected several of Ithaca's newer buildings, including Balch Hall at Cornell, the city sewage disposal plant, the Seneca Building, and the Cayuga Apartments. He also had many out-of-town contracts, constructing public schools, churches, and other buildings.
  He had resided since September in Florida, where he was associated with the Tampa Shipbuilding Works. He lived in Ithaca from 1923 to 1941.
  Mr. Dall was graduated from the College of Architecture, Cornell, in 1916. He was a naval ensign in World War I, serving on a submarine chaser in Atlantic waters. He was affiliated with Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Cornell, and was a member of the Cornell Club of New York and the University Club in that city.
  Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Dall entered Cornell from Brooklyn Polytechnic Preparatory School.
  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Constance Gray Dall; a son, Jes Jessen Dall 3rd; a daughter, Miss Joan Dall, and a sister, Mrs. J. A. B. Smith of Stamford, Conn.
  The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Bellport, L. I. Interment will be in Bellport."
