"A navigator in the U.S. Army Air Forces, Harold E. Ross Jr., son of Prof. H. E. Ross and Mrs. Ross of Forest Home, received his wings at the end of June in Hondo. Tex. He was also commissioned a second lieutenant.
  Graduated from Cornell in 1938, Lieutenant Ross received his M.S degree from Cornell in 1939. He entered the U.S, Army in July, 1942, and trained at Miami Beach, Fla, Fort Logan, Colo., Bowman Field, Ky., Maxton Field, N. C., and Camp Benning, Ga.
  Stationed in Australia from January, 1943, to August, 1943, Lieutenant Ross then returned to this country to study navigation, which he received at Texas Technology College, Lublock, Tex., and Santa Anna. Calif., before going to Hondo. 
  Lieutenant Ross is now at Tampa, Fia., for advanced training."
