"Lucy Mildred Van de Pas, age 98, of Texarkana, Texas died November 28, 2012, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Van de Pas was born June 27, 1914, in Colmesneil, Texas. She was a retired schoolteacher and homemaker. She was a member of the Chapter V P.E.O, the Lone Star DAR and First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Van de Pas. She is survived by her daughter Sally Van de Pas of Texarkana, Texas; a brother James Robert Banks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law Anne J. Banks of Hartford, Connecticut; a special friend Charles G. Smith of Texarkana, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews. Private burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
