  “Mrs. Rose Cheeks, 77, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Herman Reed [Lillian W Reid], 111 Cleveland Ave., Monday, Nov. 6, 1944.
  She is also survived by a grandson, Sergeant Adolph Reed, now stationed in the South Pacific.
  Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Herson Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva St., with the Rev. Alexander Pierce, pastor of the AME Zion Church officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery at Owego. Mrs. Cheeks was a member of the Owego Methodist Church.
  Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening.”
