Engagement of Margaret Eugenia Huffard to Charles E. Treman, Jr. announced (Oct 6 1934)

"The engagement of Miss Margaret Eugenia Huffard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Huffard of Plandome, L. I., to Charles E. Treman Jr., son of Mrs. Charles E. Treman, and the late Charles E. Treman, was announced Saturday at a luncheon given by the bride-to-be's mother at the North Hempstead Country Club at Port Washington, L. I. The date of the wedding has not yet been set.
  Miss Huffard is a graduate of Chatham Hall and of Hollins College, Hollins, Va. She also attended Barnard College and the New York School of Interior Decoration.
  Mr. Treman, a graduate of Cornell, received his A.B. in 1930 and his LL.B. in 1934. He is a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity and of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. During his senior year he was captain of the track team which combined with Princeton to defeat Oxford and Cambridge Universities at Stamford Bridge, London."

"Margaret Huffard Treman passed away on Friday, January 11th, 2002. She was born on May 20, 1909 in Marion, Virginia and was a graduate of the Chatham Hall School and Hollins College. She Treman moved to Ithaca in 1935 following her marriage to Charles E. Treman, Jr., and became active in community service and volunteer organizations.

  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, her daughter, Terese Treman Williams of Spring Island, South Carolina, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters."
