"Anne Smith Riley, 86, former long time Ithaca resident, died Friday, April 3, 1998 in Oregon where she had been residing.
She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Round S. & Catherine Barry Smith. She was the widow of Albert J. Riley who died in 1946.
Prior to her retirement, Anne had been the office manager of Irv Lewis Men's Store for thirty five years.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, The Catholic Daughters of America and, for many years, had run the bingo program at the Immaculate Conception School. She was very active throughout the years with the Girl Scouts and was an avid bowler.
Anne is survived by three daughters, Patricia Robertson and Carol (Ralph) Riggs of Portland, Oregon and Rita (George) Nicholas of Ithaca; her grand-children, Kelly O'Connell, Kevin O'Connell, Greg Tamblyn, Suzie Halberg, Terri Shiek and Rowdie Tamblyn, all of Oregon, Colleen Thompson of Florida, Julie Nicholas of Rochester and Susan Nicholas (Daniel) Miller of Ithaca; seven great-grandchildren. Anne is also survived by her brothers, Edward Smith of DeLeon Springs, Florida and David Smith of Yardville, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband. Anne was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and John Smith and her sister, Rita C. Smith."
