Sedgwick E. Smith. 75. of 200 Roat Street, Ithaca died Sunday morning, February 11 1990 in the Cleveland Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Smith was born April 4. 1914 in Elkins West Virginia, the son of the late Charles Smith and Annie Lothes Smith of Ridgeway. Pa. who survives him. He received a BS degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1935 and a Ph.D. Degree from Cornell University in 1939. ... He was a Professor in the Dept. of Animal Husbandry at Cornell University for 42 years before retiring in 1977. ... In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Margaret G. Smith at home. Two sons: Edward J. Smith and Mark F. Smith both of Ithaca. A daughter. Eileen S. Kinsey of Flanders. New Jersey.
