Obituary for Betty Slater (died Sep 24 1998), widow of Paul Slater

"Milda Elizabeth "Betty" Slater, 72, of 325 Main Street, Newfield and formerly of East Shore Drive, Ithaca, went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 24, 1998 in Robert Packer Hospital. She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Wellington and Anna Anderson Snow. She was the widow of Paul Slater.
  Betty was formerly the office manager of Ithaca Photo, where she had worked for many years. Following her retirement from Ithaca Photo she had her own typing business and did extensive work for Cornell University. She was also associated with Forest City Realty and attended the First Baptist Church of Homer, NY.
  Betty is survived by her son, James A. Slater of Poughkeepsie; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Theresa Slater of Cortland; her daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Mark Cunningham of Newfield; her grandchildren, Jennifer Bliss, Kaitlin, Trevor and Justin Slater, Brandi Cunningham and Forrest Cunningham, who had enjoyed his Grandmother's love and companionship on a daily basis since he was eight weeks old. Betty is also survived by her sister, Margaret Hardesty of Freeville; her sister-in-law, Agnes Snow of Varna; her step-son, Paul Slater Jr. and his family; her two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Herbert Snow and her sister, Candace Palmer.
  A Celebration of Betty's life will be held on Friday, October 2, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Homer with a reception immediately following at the church. Private burial will be at a later date at the Snyder Hill Cemetery."
