Obituary for William H. Slights

"William H. Slights, 84, of Hibbard's Corners, Ellis Hollow Rd., died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1951, at his home.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hannah Hornbrook Slights; a son, Ernest W. Slights, Ithaca RD 2; 2 brothers, John Slights of Ithaca and Arthur Slights of Hartford, Conn.; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, in the Wagner Funeral Home, 421 N. Aurora St., with the Rev. R. E. Charles, rector, of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiating.
  Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden."

Note:  According to Place Names of Tompkins County, edited by Carol Kammen, Hibbards Corners was a community located at the crossing of the Ellis Hollow and Turkey Hill roads.  In 2026, Turkey Hill Rd becomes Quarry Rd going south from this intersection to Snyder Hill Rd.
