"Dr. Foecking died May 16, 2004, at Holly Hill Nursing Home in Newbury.
  Born June 25, 1924, in Cleveland, Dr. Foecking lived in Gates Mills for seven years before moving to Chardon Township in 1967.
  At age 26, in July 1950, he earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, School of Chemical Engineering in Ithaca, N.Y.
  After achieving his Ph.D. degree, Lieutenant J.G. Norbert J. Foecking continued to serve in the USNR as a research engineer at Shell Oil Co. in Houston, Texas from July 31, 1950, to Dec. 28, 1953. He was elected a member of the Cornell Chapter of The Society of the Sigma XI on April 13, 1951, for his devotion to the promotion of research in Science."
