Martin Potter "died on December 27, 2014. He was 78. Mr. Potter was born and raised in Ithaca, N.Y. After graduating from Florida State University in 1959, he worked in hotel management in Texas and New York for several years. In the 1960s, he moved to Boston and joined Michel Kazan Salon as a hair stylist, a career he enjoyed until 1984 when he realized his life-long aspiration of working in interior design and opened MJ Berries. Mr. Potter was also an accomplished fine art painter creating vibrant abstract works from his South End studio."
