"Mrs. William Van Kuren was born in Brookton 27 years ago and resided there till she came to this city with her husband several years ago. She is survived by her husband and one son."
Ithaca Daily Journal, Jan. 4, 1904, page 6.

"Mrs. William Van Kuren, of No. 911 North Cayuga street, died this morning at 11:30 o'clock at the City Hospital. She was taken to the Hospital Wednesday morning and that afternoon an operation was performed of a very serious nature as a last resort to save her life. But the disease with which she had been ill for the pas three weeks had made such great progress that the surgeon's efforts proved futile. Mrs. Van Kuren was 23 years old."
