"Mrs. Katherine Estella Ashton, 80, died this morning, Mar. 31, 1945, at her home in Varna. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ithaca.
She is survived by her husband, James M. Ashton and one son Willis H. Ashton, both of Varna; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude E. Cornelius of Mitchell St. Extension and Mrs. Marguerite A. Griffin of Varna; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren."
