Large Attendance At Obsequies for Mrs. J. D. Chappuis Dryden — The funeral of Mrs. Jessie Davis Chappuis, 74, who died on Mar. 18 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Rummer in Cortland, was held from her home on Main Street, Dryden. Mrs. Chappuis was the youngest of a family of eight children of Alfred and Kathrine Butterfield Davis of Harford. Her sister, Mrs. Sarah Harrington, now living in Brooklyn, the eldest of the family, is the only survivor of the family. Mrs. Chappuis is survived by three children, Frank Chappuis of Sherburne, Mrs. Albert Rummer and
Mrs. W. A. Munsey of Cortland; two grand-children, Marion Munsey of Cortland and Howard Munsey of Buffalo.
Mrs. Chappuis was a member of the Methodist Church and Clover Rebekah Lodge of Dryden, being active in both. Relatives and friends here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rummer, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Munsey and Marion Munsey of Cortland; Howard Munsey, Buffalo; Miss Doris Hawks, Batavia; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hawley, Harford; Mrs. Ed Wilcox, Harford Mills; M. M. Hall, Mrs. Carrie Conklin, Cortland; Mrs. Glen Hall, Killawog; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Butterfield, Earl Butterfield, Marathon; Mrs. Fred Bradt, Hunts Corners; Miss Daisy Deuel, Mrs. John Becker, Auburn; Mrs. Nellie Bloomer, Mr. and Mrs. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Davis, Miss Kate Day, Virgil; Mrs. Robert Chamberlain, Ithaca; Mrs. Kate Sandwick, Richford.
Burial was in Willow Glen Cemetery. The Rev. W. S. Crane officiated."
