"Alfred E. Boicourt of Orlando, Fla. and formerly of 101 Halcyon Hill, Forest Home, died Thursday, July 26, 1962. He was born in Kansas in 1882, the son of pioneers in that state. He was formerly a member of the Forest Home Chapel, Odd Fellows and Elks.
He took a short course in poultry at Cornell University in 1906 and a two-year course in the same subject and horticulture from 1908, graduating in 1910. For three years he taught at the school of horticulture at Ambler, Pa., returning to work at the Cornell poultry research farm from 1914 to 1918.
For about four years, he operated a commercial poultry farm and then returned as foreman at Cornell's poultry research farm from 1922 to 1943 when he retired.
After retirement, he worked at Morse Chain and other Ithaca establishments until 1956 when he and his wife moved to Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Worden Boicourt; one son, Alfred W. who is a professor of horticulture at Massachusetts State University, Amherst, Mass. and three grandchildren.
