L Gertrude Grover

Lucy Gertrude Grover was born on Oct 8, 1905 in Ithaca, the daughter of Herbert Hice Whetzel, Professor of Plant Pathology at Cornell's College of Agriculture, and Lucy Ethel Baker Whetzel. Her first husband was William Oliver Grover; they were married in August 1931 and divorced by 1950 according to the census. In 1956 she married William M. Lott, Sr. of Gardners, PA, where she lived until his death in 1989. She died on Nov 18, 1992 in Essex, CT.

She was a graduate of Swarthmore College and worked as a newspaper reporter for the Philadelphia Ledger and as a broadcaster for WHCU in Ithaca, NY, where she hosted popular radio programs for thirteen years.
