"Leeland R. Jones, 43, of 321 N. Aurora St., died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 20, 1990 in Tompkins Community Hospital. Mr. Jones was born June 25, 1947 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Richard C. Jones Sr. of Baltimore, Md. & Gladys Broughton Jones of Ithaca. A resident of this area for many years, Mr. Jones was a professional boxer and had tried out for the U.S. Boxing Team for the 1972 Olympics."

Miss Emma Jean Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Tucker of 307 Plain St, became the bride of Leeland Russell Jones on Saturday, Nov. 8, 1968 ... Chester Cashman of Ithaca was the best man. The ushers were Leveter Tucker and Gorden Briggs. Leslie Malone was the ring bearer. Mr. and Mrs. Jones both attended Ithaca High School. Mr. Jones, who is the son of Mrs. E.
