"Funeral services for Henry Alexander Thomas, A03, U.S. Navy, will be held at....the Church of the Immaculate Conception....
He made his home in Ithaca with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rucker while attending school here. He was graduated from Ithaca High School in 1953. Mr. Thomas was a member of the varsity football team as a player and manager and was active in school activities. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1952 and went on active duty after graduation from high school. In 1958 he was city by the Navy for bravery. At the time of his death he was stationed on the USS Hancock, an aircraft carrier.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his widow, Janet F. Thomas and a son, Wesley, both of San Diego; his father Lucius C. Thomas of Detroit, Mich. and mother Mrs. Sara Redding of Hollywood, Calif...."
