Obituary for Mrs. Byrl Jorgensen Kellogg

"Mrs. Byrl Jorgensen Kellogg of 115 Dearborn Place died Sunday, Jan. 23, 1966 in Tompkins County Hospital after a long illness. A librarian at Cornell University, she was in charge of the Library of Natural Sounds at the Laboratory of Ornithology where her husband is assistant director.
She was born in New York City, daughter of the late Carl and Valborg Strom Jorgensen and received her education at Simmons College in Boston, Columbia University and the University of Chicago.
She had served on the staffs at Chicago and New York Public Libraries, was a member of a number of professional organizations, and had contributed articles to professional periodicals. She was past president of the New York Library Assn. and had been a librarian in Cortland for many years.
During World War II, she taught library administration and adult education at the Graduate School of Library Science at Syracuse University. Mrs. Kellogg was active in foreign student work at Cornell University and helped plan the original Friends of the Cornell Public Library.
She is listed in "Who's Who in American Women."
She is survived by her husband, Peter Paul Kellogg; four sisters, Mrs. Valborg Kellogg, Mrs. Lillian Anderson, Mrs. Blanche Frame and Mrs. Doris Duce, all of Chicago, Ill.; and two brothers, Olaf Jorgensen of Santa Fe, N.M. and Leland Jorgensen of Chicago."
