"William C. Taber, about 64, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 3, 1950, in Miami, Fla. Proprietor of a boat livery and bait concession on the Pier Rd., at the mouth of the Inlet, he was well known to sportsmen of Ithaca. He had been visiting during the Winter at his brother's home in Miami. His brother, Harry B. Taber, a former Ithacan, is president of the new million-dollar baseball stadium at Miami, home of the Sun Sox Club of which his son. Harry B. Taber Jr., is president. He was a veteran of World War 1.
Surviving besides his brother are two sisters, Mrs. James Shaw of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Frank Manion of Detroit, Mich.; his stepmother, Mrs. William C. Taber; three half brothers, Albert, John and Richard Taber; an aunt, Mrs. Alice Bool, all of Ithaca..."
