"Herman E. Paetow, 64, for many years superintendent of the assembly department of the Ithaca Gun Company, dropped dead at the plant while making his rounds of the department this morning....
Mr. Paetow was one of the oldest employes of the company in the point of service, having entered the employe of the Ithaca Gun Company 33 years ago. He worked his way up from the mechanic's bench to the superintendency of the assembly department and supervision over 125 workmen.
Mr. Paetow came to this country from Germany when a young man, and worked for Henry W. Sage for several years before going to the Gun Company plant....
Beside his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. C. V. Hammond of La Grande, Ore., Mrs. H. H. Parshall and Mrs. J. M. O'Byrne of Ithaca; two sons, Raymond E. Paetow of Ithaca and Herman E. Paetow jr., of Pittsburgh, Pa."
