Obituary for Samuel P. Church

"Dr. Samuel P. Church died late yesterday at the home of his son, Professor Irving P. Church of 9 South avenue.
Dr. Church was the youngest son of the late Samuel Church, Chief Justice of the State of Connecticut, and after a long practice as a physician at Newburgh, N. Y., he retired from active work in 1890, after the death of his wife and came to Ithaca to join his younger son, with whom he made his home from that time until his death.
Dr. Church was the oldest graduate of Trinity College, Hartford, and probably also the oldest member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity, being in his ninety-fourth year. He is survived by his younger son and two granddaughters, children of the latter.
The funeral services will be private."
