    Address on census: Caroline Center Rd. "1st on rt going to Caroline Center ???." Address in 1957 Street Directory for Paul Orton: 41 Seventy Six Rd. In 1956 there was a fire at his residence, described as at "Guideboard Corners" [see https://ithacajournal.newspapers.com/clip/110863166/fires-at-homes-of-paul-orton-and-ralph-o/ ]. Guideboard Corners is hamlet near intersection of Grove School Rd, Central Chapel Rd, and 76 Rd, using 2022 names for roads. In 1971, Paul Orton and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home at 41 76 Rd [see https://ithacajournal.newspapers.com/clip/110863375/50th-wedding-anniversary-for-paul-and-gl/ ]. This is close to the intersection, but would not necessarily be the same as their 1950 residence when he was farming. The 1940 base map for Caroline shows that the road from this intersection to Caroline Center is Old 76. 41 76 Rd is a current address in 2022 for a house built in 1865.
