    No house number on census. Street indication on census is "Lake Road going north." There are no entries in Ithaca City Directories for any Donahues on Lake Road between 1949 and 1952. Before the enumerator deleted it, the first line for this household was for a William E Donahue, a white male, but with no age, this could have been for Mabel's husband or her son. Mabel's husband was William Edward Donahue (1875 - 1964). Mabel's son was William Edwin Donahue (1912 - 1992). The enumerator provided a note: "William Donahue isn't living at home. Whereabouts unknown. The house listed as $135 a month. Without a doubt wrong for this district." The son 's business was quite close and so the comment presumably refers to her husband. But it suggests that Mabel was renting a house on Lake Rd, but only briefly, perhaps a summer cottage.
