Listed in 1940 Ithaca City Directory (ICD) as "Watson E B asst CU res RD1" and in 1941 ICD as "Watson Edwin B inst CU r Frank Hanshaw." In 1942 ICD, Frank and Rachel Hanshaw lived at 112 Triphammer (N) Rd. Before 1942, houses on the northern section of Triphammer didn't have numbers. The Cornell Directory for 1939-40 and 1940-41 show "Watson, E. B., 3331-1299, Instr. Experimental Engineering, Mechanical Laboratory. — R. D. 1, North Triphammer Road, 7563." In 1942 ICD, the listing includes his new wife, "Watson Edwin B (Betty B) inst CU h N Triphammer rd RD1." Note that the Hanshaws owned the property and ICDs indicate that they took in lodgers when their children didn't need the available space.
