- NotesNo house number on census. Street is indicated as Warren Road, but Ithaca City Directories did not recognize what is now Warren Rd as the official name until into the 1950s. Sproston was listed in the Cornell Directory for 1939-40 as "Sproston, Thomas, jr., 3451-71 (3454), Asst. Plant Pathology, 356 Plant Science. - Forest Home, Warren Road, 31302." Thomas Sproston was in Ithaca City Directories (ICD) as "off" Forest Home Drive for 1940 and 1941 between Walter E. Westervelt and Richard C. Crosby or Glenn Salisbury. Westervelt had four school-age children in the house he owned on Halcyon Hill and would be unlikely to rent out space. Crosby and Salisbury lived in a group of three houses on Warren Road, that eventually were numbered as 116, 120, and 122 Warren Rd. The houses were large enough to accommodate two couples. A synthetic house number of X6 Warren Rd has been used and tentatively positioned near the middle of the three. Another possibility would have been renting space in the farmhouse at 127.
