Notes
For address, the census indicates "South Lane" with no house number. Address in 1880 Ithaca city directory for Caroline Ferguson's son is "r. Unitarian Church," i.e., at the rear of the Unitarian Church. In 1880, according to https://unitarian.ithaca.ny.us/index.php/about-us/history/ , "In 1873, our first building was erected at the corner of Terrace Place and East Buffalo Street, one block east of the present site, ... Early in 1893, the church was destroyed by a fire blamed on an overturned oil burner used to warm rehearsals by the Ithaca Conservatory of Music (later Ithaca College). " The 1889 F.W. Beers map shows "Mrs. Ferguson" on the first building along Terrace Place behind the church, in the current location of 110 and 112 Terrace Place. The 1878 city directory lists her as "Ferguson Caroline S., McClune Terrace, r. Unitarian Church."
