“Excavation work was started Monday for a two-story frame building in the 400 block, West Seneca street, to be erected as a factory for the Ithaca Bottling Works, now located at
122 South Aurora street.
The new building, it is said, will be equipped with the latest modern machinery for sanitary manufacture and bottling of soft drink beverages, and it is hoped it will be ready by May 1.
Mr. Sigler, owner of the bottling works, has been engaged for years in the bottling business, starting out under the firm name of Sigler & Burns, over 22 years ago. The firm’s first location was on South Tioga street. Later they moved to the present location.
Business, Mr. Sigler says, has been growing the past few years and larger quarters are necessary. The special feature of the new factory will be the cleaning of vats and automatic fillers.”
