Tompkins County Assessment records say this home was built around 1823. In the 1950 Census the building was listed as vacant, but not long afterwards (1953) its owner, Floyd Beach, renovated it out of its dilapidated state, moved in, and sold his adjoining 14 Beach Road house and property. Prior to becoming a residence the building was a structure associated with the mill that set along the creek at that location.
