"Four-story, three-bay, brick building; stone lintels and sills (windows currently boarded over); brick frieze with three recessed panels beneath a coursed, denticulated brick comice. Street-level facade altered with T-111 siding, brick kneewall, and aluminum door.
Built 1824; altered in 1885 and 1980s.
Historical note: Henry Ackley built a three-story, six-bay, brick commercial building at this location in 1824. The present building may contain part of the original block. In 1885. the building was altered to add a fourth story. Furniture stores have traditionally occupied this building including Howard’s, Barton’s, and Schulman’s."
