“Two major auto firms — being displaced by a large city parking lot to be built adjacent to the new Woolworth Department Store Urban Renewal project — said today that they are moving ‘full speed ahead’ on plans for their new buildings, each projected to cost about $300,000. 
R. Davis Cutting, president of Cutting Motors, Inc., 227 S Cayuga St., is building on a 2 1/2 acres plot in the 300-block of Elmira Rd. 
Frederick S. Brown, president of Cayuga Motors Sales Corp., 123-127 E Green St, is taking what he terms a gamble by moving to a 5-acre site on N Triphammer Rd. near Oak Crest Rd. in the Town of Lansing, a half-mile north of Rte. 13. 
Cutting Motors grosses $1 million annually in car sales; Cayuga Motors’ figure is $3 1/2 million. 
Supreme Court Justice Joseph Molinari last week ruled that the city could have permanent possession of the present Cutting Motors and Cayuga Motors sites by Oct. 1. 
Both firms plan bigger buildings and larger staffs….”
